WALTERS is Distinguished Leadership Scholar, Director of the African American Leadership Institute in the Burns Academy of Leadership, and Professor of Government and Politics at the University of Maryland College Park./e The author of five other books and over seventy-five articles, he is an internationally recognized authority on the political leadership of people of African descent.
CEDRIC JOHNSON is a doctoral candidate in the University of Maryland's Department of Government and Politics and serves as a researcher for the James MacGregor Burns Academy of Leadership's African American Leadership Institute./e
