should be titled partial index of American periodicals from World War II

The book only covers less than half of the American military periodicals from World War II. English language periodicals from other countries are omitted for want of space. The basis for including Yank, which is to a large extent a fluff publication, while omitting more serious periodicals such as Army Navy Journal, Intelligence Bulletin, Tactical and Technical Trends and Chemical Warfare Bulletin is not given. Periodicals for the support branches such as Quartermaster Review, Military Engineer, Signal Corps Technical Letter, Army Medical Bulletin and Military Surgeon are not included. The indexing method also is lacking. Instead of listing specific battles or campaigns individually, they are put together under general geographical headings making it more difficult to find the battles of interest. I am glad I got it at a large discount. The book represents a good idea but the execution is deficient. I would have preferred to pay more for a more comprehensive work
